Programme: Pahang Heritage Festival 2025

The Pahang Heritage Festival 2025 is a large-scale cultural and artistic event organized in collaboration with the Pahang and the Sarawak State. Various agencies under the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak were also involved in the success of this event.

Majlis Seni Sarawak served as one of the main platforms to showcase the uniqueness of Sarawak’s ethnic cultural dances and traditional attire. The open performances held at the Sarawak Pavilion also provided the people of Pahang with the opportunity to experience the beauty of Sarawak’s ethnic dances. In addition, visitors had the chance to witness exhibitions of handicrafts such as pua kumbu weaving, beadwork and plaiting, as well as enjoy a variety of Sarawak’s traditional delicacies including laksa Sarawak, mee kolok and kek lapis.

The booth of Majlis Seni Sarawak also received visits from royal guests and dignitaries from both states, including Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hajah Asmah binti Abdul Rahman.

This festival not only strengthens cultural diplomacy between Pahang and Sarawak, but also plays an important role in elevating the arts, culture and heritage of the states for the appreciation of the public and tourists. It also acts as a catalyst for domestic and international tourism, creating business opportunities for craft entrepreneurs and local traders, contributing to the growth of the national creative industry, while further strengthening bilateral relations in the aspects of culture, economy, and tourism.
