Kuching, 21 August 2025 – This courtesy visit marked the first official visit by En. Awang Ikman Bin Awang Sepian, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Majlis Seni Sarawak, since he began serving as Acting CEO in July.

The official meeting, held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, was a continuation of the SOSEK MALINDO initiative, a bilateral collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia in sustaining regional arts and culture.

The visit also emphasized efforts to strengthen the social and cultural cluster under the SOSEK MALINDO framework, which plays a vital role in reinforcing regional relations between the two nations.

Through this engagement, both parties had the opportunity to discuss future directions, share perspectives, and reaffirm their commitment to fostering closer cultural diplomacy through the arts and heritage platform.

Majlis Seni Sarawak is confident that this collaboration will serve as a catalyst for the advancement of arts and culture, while further solidifying cultural diplomacy ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.
